Mathematics as it sounds dreadful to all of us is as interesting as it can be. Mathematics department of Samsara celebrated October as Mathematics Awareness Month and took the students on calculative journey! Department organised a scores of activities for the students from Class III - IX. The main objective behind organising different Mathematics related activities was to let the students think methodologically and innovatively. Sudoku Competition was held amongst different classes where they used combinatorics, computational complexity and group theory to solve the Sudoku grids. In this endeavour Class V won the competition. Tambola was also being played by the students where probability (Mathematics concept) was used. Not only algorithm but geometrical problems were given to the students to play around with like tangram. In this game students were to solve a problem by rearranging 7 polygons. This game aimed at the students' problem solving ability by rearranging different geomatrical shapes. Students of class VIII-IX participated in 'geomatric rangoli'. Students drew their rangolis in geometrical shapes on an A4 sheet.
The result of the above mentioned competitions is as under:-
