With the mission to bring about a behavioural change, the govt launched an awareness generation campaign on plastic waste management and the elimination of single-use plastic items.
Keeping this in view, Samsara The World Academy also took initiative to achieve the said goal.
An awareness program was conducted for the school students by the resource person, Mr Prashant Sharma, Horticulture Deptt, GNIDA on 30 June 2022.
He notified the students to phase out single-use plastic and by taking effective measures to manage plastic waste by 2022.
A pledge ceremony for 'Say No To Plastic' was administered where the students took an oath to safeguard their mother Earth by adopting eco-friendly alternatives to plastic, thus protecting the environment too.
This awareness program will help us understand the impacts of plastic pollution on humans and the ecosystem as well as our everyday activities(eco-friendly) can lessen the problem.
