Samsara-The World School organised an ISA activity ‘Tug of War ’ for the teachers. The event took place in the school ground on 22nd August 2014.Teachers were divided into two groups and they competed against each other. The event was thoroughly enjoyed by the students where they saw the tough competition between their teachers. Teachers felt exuberant at the organisation of the match.
Classes VII and VIII standard students of Samsara World School had a golden opportunity of exploring and comparing the type of wastes of different countries and their management, under the initiative of International School Award by British council. The students prepared a skit on WASTE DISPOSAL which was performed in the morning assembly. They also made other students aware of how to manage the waste generated at school. They also prepared a Power Point Presentation on the topic –GREEN EARTH. This step was supported by keeping two bins in the classes (green bin and blue bin). They also visited the compost pit area where all the garbage from green bins is dumped.
They decorated the board with their healthy ideas to keep the Earth Green. The students also participated in Poster Making Competition and Quiz Competition.
This activity sensitize the students about the importance of waste management.
The ISA, an accreditation scheme run by the British Council for the Department for children, schools and families by UK, recognizes good practices in adding an international dimension to the school curriculum across the globe. Our school has bagged the prestigious International School Award (ISA) 2012-2015 from the Department of Education, United Kingdom, managed in India through the British Council. As per the British Council, for the year 2012-15, Samsara World School has been conferred the award for an ‘Exemplary Dossier and Outstanding Work’ amongst the 90 participating schools. The recognition and accreditation of our school in the SOUVENIR 2012, by BRITISH COUNCIL is also a momentous achievement and culmination of the year-long activities comprising diverse projects of global dimensions.
